Geurt Holdijk

Founder – Architect & Developer

Geurt Holdijk’s approach to design is shaped by a rare combination of spatial sensitivity, analytical thinking and cultural understanding. In 1992 he graduated in Groningen at the Hanzehogeschool, specialising in Real Estate within the Economic and Legal studies program, followed by a year of Art and Architectural History at the University of Groningen. He later continued his architectural education in Amsterdam at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture.

As founder of HOUSE OF ARCHITECTS, Geurt believes architecture should create calm, clarity and lasting value. His work is defined by restraint, precision and a deep sensitivity to place. Rather than adding more, he searches for what is essential — until a project feels inevitable and effortless.

With a strong eye for proportion, atmosphere and detail, Geurt designs spaces that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Every project begins with carefully understanding the client, the context and the hidden potential of a place. The result is architecture that is quiet in expression, yet powerful in experience.

His approach combines conceptual clarity with meticulous execution, balancing aesthetics, functionality and materiality in every layer of the design process. From private residences to complex transformations, Geurt leads each project with dedication and an uncompromising focus on quality.
